Special Emphasis Tracks
The Residency offers a unique opportunity to tailor your educational needs. We offer senior residents, in good academic status, the opportunity to pursue special emphasis tracks which enable the resident to use elective time to receive additional training:
Acupuncture: Our curriculum is developed in collaboration with Dr. Joseph Helms, a world renowned expert in the field of acupuncture. The course is taught on site with Victor Elinoff, MD, the Director of the Medical Acupuncture Program at UHS, and he serves with Dr. Janice Pegels, MD. Both oversee the acupuncture clinic at the Johnson City Family Care Center. The program offers adequate exposure to acupuncture with the ability to become certified in acupuncture during the residency training program.
